A Fantastic Result!

What a fantastic result to the first Beautiful Bras for Breast Cancer exhibition. After reading all the feedback it has certainly achieved what it set out to do which was create awareness. The exhibition has received such a wonderful positive response with many people interested in taking part again next year.

I must say a HUGE thank you to Jeni and Maree from HUGS Gallery. Jeni you are such a wonderful person, thank you so much for taking onboard my ideas and helping to achieve the success that this exhibition deserves. You have made HUGS a beautiful art space, so relaxed and ambient, such a nice place to be. Thanks Maree for all your help, I never realised how long it would take to set up!

Ideas are already in sync for next year, how many creative ways can we come up with for a bra? Hats, fascinators, outfits, handbags, purses, cushion covers, the ideas are endless… If you are interested in being involved with the Beautiful Bras for Breast Cancer exhibition for 2011 please contact Emma Lodge.

Hello world!

The Beautiful Bras for Breast Cancer exhibition successfully launched on Friday night.
After three hard days of preparation and setting up, my vision for an exhibition fundraiser has finally come together. The art space is just beautiful and so ambient.

Not only are there a range of local art works, bras and breast casts; the exhibition is also very interactive and you can be a part of it too…fill out a leaf and attach it to the Tree of Hope with your message or rememberance for a loved one, or on the verandah is a giant canvas where you can draw and name your boobs (yes thats right you did read that correctly) and what a work of art it is turning out to be!

All bras are up for silent auction, which will conclude at the Pink Ribbon High Tea on the 24th Oct. Just fill out a bidding form. All artwork is for sale with either 100% commission towards the fundraiser or 100% donation.

The exhibition has had a great response since it opened on Friday 1st Oct. It will be running over the next 3 weeks from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00pm until 8:00pm, 70 Abbott Street (opposit the City Library) so please pop by for a visit.
